To commemorate Hindi Diwas on 14 September, Pathways School Noida celebrated Hindi Saptah from 14 to 18 September 2026, creating meaningful opportunities for learners to engage with the richness of the Hindi language through stories, literature, creativity, and shared experiences. Rooted in this year’s theme, “Mere Kisse, Mere Anubhav” (My Stories, My Experiences), the week encouraged learners to explore the power of storytelling while strengthening their connection with India’s linguistic and cultural heritage.

At Pathways School Noida, language learning extends beyond textbooks and classrooms. Through thoughtfully designed experiences, learners are encouraged to appreciate the role of language as a medium for communication, identity, culture, and self-expression. Hindi Saptah embodied this philosophy by creating authentic opportunities for students to listen, share, create, and connect through Hindi.

The celebrations commenced with engaging storytelling sessions led by Ms Shalini Bansal for learners in PYP 2 and PYP 3. Through captivating narratives and interactive discussions, students experienced the joy of storytelling while deepening their appreciation for the Hindi language. Early Years learners also participated in age-appropriate storytelling experiences facilitated by in-house faculty members, fostering curiosity and confidence in listening and expressing themselves in Hindi.

One of the most meaningful highlights of Hindi Saptah was the involvement of grandparents, who visited classrooms to share stories, memories, and experiences from their childhood. These intergenerational interactions allowed learners to discover how stories, traditions, and values are passed from one generation to another. Through these conversations, students witnessed how the Hindi language serves as a bridge connecting families, communities, and cultural traditions across time.

The celebration of cultural heritage continued through a variety of literary and collaborative experiences. Learners in Grades 4 and 5 enthusiastically participated in the Hindi Book Battle, exploring diverse works of Hindi literature while developing reading, communication, and teamwork skills. The activity encouraged students to engage critically with texts, exchange ideas, and discover the richness of storytelling traditions that form an important part of India’s literary landscape.

Integrating technology with language learning, students extended their literary explorations by creating original Hindi comic stories using Storyboard. This innovative approach combined creative expression, digital literacy, and storytelling, enabling learners to transform ideas into visual narratives while strengthening their written Hindi skills. Such experiences demonstrate how modern learning environments can make the Hindi language engaging, relevant, and meaningful for contemporary learners.

Another exciting feature of Hindi Saptah was the Spell Bee Competition for learners from PYP 2 to PYP 5. Students participated with enthusiasm and confidence, showcasing their vocabulary, spelling accuracy, and language proficiency. The competition not only celebrated linguistic achievement but also reinforced the importance of language learning as a foundation for effective communication.

Throughout the week, the school environment reflected the spirit of celebration and discovery. Corridors and learning spaces came alive with vibrant displays of humorous Hindi poems, riddles, tongue twisters, jokes, and comics. These interactive displays encouraged learners to pause, read, laugh, and engage with the Hindi language beyond formal lessons, transforming everyday spaces into hubs of learning and exploration.

At its heart, Hindi Saptah was a celebration of stories, stories that connect people, preserve traditions, and inspire imagination. By bringing together storytelling, literature, technology, collaboration, and intergenerational learning, the week created opportunities for learners to engage deeply with their cultural heritage while developing confidence in expressing themselves through Hindi.
