At Pathways School Noida, leadership is nurtured through purpose, participation, and action. The PYP Student Council Investiture Ceremony 2026–27 marked a significant milestone as young learners formally stepped into roles of responsibility, service, and representation within the school community.

The ceremony celebrated the newly elected PYP Student Council, whose members will represent their peers, share ideas, and contribute to meaningful school initiatives throughout the academic year. Rooted in the values of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), the event reflected Pathways School Noida’s commitment to developing confident, compassionate, principled, and responsible global citizens.

Encouraging Student Leadership and Democratic Participation:

This year, 107 Grade 5 students enthusiastically participated in the self-nomination process. Their willingness to step forward demonstrated confidence, initiative, and a sincere desire to contribute positively to the school community.

The selection process provided students with valuable opportunities to experience democratic participation. After campaigning and peer voting, shortlisted candidates took part in interviews, where they presented their ideas, leadership vision, and understanding of effective representation. Through this process, students strengthened essential skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, decision-making, and self-reflection.

These experiences reflect the importance of student leadership opportunities in an IB school. They empower learners to express their views, listen to others, and understand that leadership is built on responsibility and service rather than position alone.

A Meaningful Investiture Ceremony:

During the Student Council Investiture Ceremony, the newly elected council members were formally badged. The badge symbolised their appointment to the Student Council 2026–27, as well as their commitment to serving their peers and school community with integrity, empathy, and purpose.

The ceremony reinforced that true leadership involves taking initiative, collaborating respectfully, listening carefully, and inspiring positive change. As representatives of their peers, the young leaders have pledged to uphold the values of Pathways School Noida while contributing actively to school life.

Service and Action in Practice:

A central focus of the PYP Student Council is Service and Action, an important element of the IB Primary Years Programme. Throughout the year, council members will participate in projects and initiatives that respond to real needs within the school and wider community.

From supporting school events to promoting student-led campaigns, learners will have opportunities to turn ideas into purposeful action. These experiences will encourage them to use their voices responsibly, work as a team, solve problems creatively, and understand the impact of their decisions.

Through these initiatives, students will develop a stronger sense of agency and learn how thoughtful action can create meaningful change.

The council’s journey will be guided by the attributes of the IB Learner Profile. Students will be encouraged to become caring, principled, reflective, open-minded, and effective communicators. These qualities will help them lead confidently while remaining sensitive to the needs and perspectives of others.

As members of the Pathways School Noida Student Council, learners will serve as role models who demonstrate respect, responsibility, cooperation, and lifelong learning.
