Like every year, the formal Investiture Ceremony to officiate the Primary Student Council was held on the 24th August. It's a culmination of a three-week election process which starts off with a leadership workshop by the Principal for all the students of grade 5. This workshop kickstarts the first thoughts within the students where they start thinking on the lines of leadership qualities and what to look for in their peers and themselves to identify a good leader. Each student of grade 5 who's been in the school for more than a year is eligible to be on the council. Students of grade 5 choose ten of their peers whom they consider appropriate to be a member of the council. This is followed by a rigorous filtering which gives us the final list of top 20 students who form the final student council. After one-to-one interviews with the School Director and Principal, campaigning through posters and individual speeches, they experience the election process. Students of grades 3, 4 and 5 cast their vote through an online system of polling which finalizes the positions. During the Investiture ceremony the newly elected student council members are given their badges and take the formal oath. It's always a moment of pride watching young leaders taking the ceremonial walk holding the school flag and pledging to keep the spirit of the school high.
