Hot weather is water weather! Summer is the perfect time to explore water activities, and there’s nothing more enjoyable than spending time in water. No matter whether it’s the ocean, the swimming pool or a tub in the backyard, playing in the water helps children develop in a host of essential ways. On Friday 18 May 2018 our early learners geared up to have a blast on ‘Splash Day’. They couldn’t wait to get wet and enjoy the different stations set-up for them. A beautiful watery day gave the children an opportunity to put on their swimsuits and play with water in the pool and at all the stations set up for them by the PE team.

The children thoroughly enjoyed various stations with their friends and could be seen splashing water with glee. The stations set up for a range of fun activities had our little ones squealing with joy. Each station addressed a specific skill in addition to ensuring the children had fun. They were excited to splash in the pool, slip down the slide into the water and throw water-soaked sponges around, amongst the many fun engagements. We added to their fun by dropping small amounts of washing liquid into the water puddles under the sprinklers, encouraging the children to see what happens. Many bubbles were made and they had a gala time. The children not only loved playing with their peers but also had fun splashing water onto their teachers. Their gleeful laughter said it all. Indeed, a wet and a wonderful day.
