"Abhar Utsav" is such a source of pride for all our support staff at Pathways School, Noida.

The Abhar Utsav is an annual event, wherein the Interact Club collects donations from across the school, and they are then sold at low prices to the support staff. The support staff helps us every day at school, whether it is housekeeping who make the school a welcoming place or the drivers that commute us to school every morning; their hard work definitely deserves reward.

The entire process for the Abhar Utsav began two months ago. The donation drive was set up in March, the donations included books, toys, blankets, bags, shoes and clothes for both children and adults. The students and teachers of our school donated generously in large amounts.The team encouraged students to donate through reminders, posters, announcements and emails throughout the month.

Once the donation process was over, we began sorting, cleaning, labelling and arranging the products. Our lunches, stay-backs and free lessons were spent huddled in the tiny room working for the final event.

The final event was on the 12th of April.The entire day was filled with the enthusiasm of students, teachers and support staff. The club members, class representatives and primary student council worked towards expressing our thanks to the support who work tirelessly in our school. The inauguration for the event began at 10, followed by the primary students beautifully expressing their thanks to the support staff through their song.The stalls were quickly filled, with donations selling like hotcakes.Many items ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 40 were sold to the support staff.The volunteers worked hard to aid the support staff, and sell as many items as possible.Though, this event was not meant to be a profit making event, yet we wish to share that we collected Rs. 7670/- and deposited the same to the Interact fund account.

The support staff happily left with their shopping and the Interact team and teachers left with the feeling of having successfully contributed to make our world a better place.
