Students of DP 1 visited the National Gallery of Modern Art and Bikaner House, New Delhi which was an enriching experience, providing them with a broader understanding of their artistic journey ahead.
At the National Gallery of Modern Art, the students delved into a diverse range of artworks spanning from the 1800s to the present day. The collection offered a rich tapestry of artistic expressions, allowing the group to draw connections to their own thematic explorations. The exposure to various artists and their works not only broadened the perspectives but also served as a foundation for potential research and comparative studies.
They encountered the works of renowned artists such as Jamini Roy, MF Hussain, and more. Exploring their creations provided valuable insights into different artistic techniques, styles, and thematic choices.
Bikaner House offered a unique opportunity to engage with sculptures and interact directly with artists. One notable interaction was with Radha Krishn, who generously shared his artistic journey spanning 50 years. His explanations about his thought process, choice of materials, and the forms he employs added a layer of depth to the students understanding of sculpture as an art form.
The personal interactions with artists at Bikaner House allowed students to gain firsthand insights into the meaning and inspiration behind their artworks. This direct engagement enhanced their comprehension of the artistic process and provided a more profound connection to our own thematic explorations.
