The grade 3 trip to Gandhi Smriti Museum was a great addition to the students’ knowledge about Gandhiji and his efforts to bring about peace and resolve conflicts. The students identified historical sites which hold a great significance. This ignited the student’s curiosity and made them realise how peace is better than conflict. The students recognized how Gandhiji was able to fight against the British not by violence but by practicing the non-violent ways to resolve conflicts. Students also noticed many interesting artifacts such as the unity pillar, the various trains that Gandhiji took, the ashrams that Gandhiji built, the famous chakra etc. The fieldtrip also helped the students appreciate the caring and principled lifestyle adopted by Gandhiji’.
