Grade 4 adventure camp at Alaya Resort, Jim Corbett was one such opportunity for the children to explore their sense of adventure, try new things and extend themselves beyond what they considered themselves capable of. There was a lot of excitement as parents and students assembled in the Atrium at 5:00 am on 22nd March 2022. The students bid goodbyes to their parents. There was a short break at Gajraula for breakfast. We reached the resort at lunch time and were treated to a delicious meal.
Students settled in their rooms and were excited to explore their surroundings. They were briefed and their groups were made. The teachers and instructors reiterated the essential agreements. The students groups took turns towards different activities involving tent Pitching, Scrambling, Knot making and evening games post tea and snacks. Towards the end of the day, students reflected around the bonfire and proceeded towards dinner.

The next day was a rotation of activities for different groups. Every morning, at 7 am children woke up and after morning routines had breakfast. Post breakfast, each group had activity lined up like outdoor education, team building games and treasure hunt. The day ended with dinner with singing and dancing around the bonfire, before retiring for the night.
It was wonderful to see students support and cheer their teammates. Their friends, teachers and the trainers motivated them to be a risk taker, organise themselves and attempt all the activities. It was amazing to see a sense of accomplishment after completing the adventure activities. There was also a talent show. The treasure hunt and varied team competitions was an opportunity for students to band together and achieve their team targets. Students were rewarded for best room, best team, talented group and best campers.
Students learnt about the village panchayat followed by a discussion about the governance system in the villages. Students got an opportunity to interact with the villagers at Kyari village, Jim Corbett. They interviewed the villagers and inquired about the medical facilities, education system and agricultural activities. They also visited a government school and met the students and their teachers.
During the camps, children got an opportunity to step out of their house and spend time with their peers. It was wonderful to see them mange themselves well and develop their self-management skills. Students blossomed and were seen having mindful interaction with their peers and develop their social skills further.
Next morning the children woke up early and packed their stuff and left the campsite early in their buses. The students sang their way back home. It was a wonderful trip and children had lots of wonderful memories to treasure and cherish.
