The primary school election procedure started as soon as the students joined in the new academic year. All students of Grade 5 were taken through a leadership workshop led by Ms. Singal to understand the qualities and responsibilities of being a leader. All of them then nominated ten students each whom they felt possess the necessary leadership skills. This exercise gave us our final twenty students who then moved on with the sequential process of formulating the student council. The twenty candidates designed a virtual campaign for themselves where they created teasers and gave speeches to share their plans and aspirations with their prospective voters from Grades 3, 4 and 5. They had a one-to-one interview with the school leadership team, where they talked about their ideas and thoughts as a future council member. The voting was held on Monday, August 16, 2021, which resulted in our final student body made up of twenty posts.

The primary school had their first ever virtual investiture ceremony on Friday, August 20, 2021. It was eagerly attended by all the students and parents of Grades 3, 4 and 5. The morning began with a beautiful musical ensemble titled ‘Hall of Fame’, put together by the primary school choir. The formal ceremony was initiated with the inspiring words of Dr. Advani. It was a delight to watch each newly elected council member being proudly badged by their parents. It was a memorable moment for all the twenty students and their families. Once badged, the two presidents led the oath where the council pledged to abide by the principles of their school and take responsibility of their positions. The presidents, Rabbani Wadhwa and Aadit Gupta, addressed the gathering expressing their gratitude towards being chosen by their peers for such an esteemed and important post. The ceremony ended with Ms. Singal’s motivating words to carve the path ahead for the newly elected student body.
