• Grade 2 interacts with an Author – Ms. Richa Jha Pathways School Noida

For our ongoing Unit ‘Personal Experiences’ with the central idea ‘Personal experiences provide inspiration for an artist to create’, students of Grade 2 have had a unique opportunity today to interact with a renowned Indian author – Ms. Richa Jha. She is a famous children’s author, publisher, and a picture book enthusiast. She is also a parent at PSN and that has made the connection so much more special.

Ms. Richa graciously accepted our invitation to interact with our second graders and patiently answered their many questions.

She shared her story with us, starting from the books that she used to read as a child. She spoke about how her passion for stories and books grew, and eventually resulted in her becoming a writer. Through her personal story she inspired our students to ‘keep an open mind’, saying that the inspiration could come at any time.

She spoke to the children about the ways to ‘feed the passion’ – by reading lots of books and trying her hand at writing. Some of her books took many months to edit until they were finally ready for release. Learning how enormous amounts of time and effort (and multiple rounds of editing) go into releasing a book, was a new learning for our students.

It was indeed a very meaningful opportunity for our students and helped them better connect with the Unit ‘Personal Experiences’.
